A friend pointed out to me that its been a long time since I posted anything so, here’s a quick update.
I’ve three trips to update you on. Bournemouth, Bruges and York. Stay tuned for those.
The cat, he’s currently in the vet hospital. While I was away last week, the cat sitter noticed that he wasn’t well and took him to the vets. he was very dehydrated probably a combination of the hot weather and an upset stomach that started after I left. He’s doing well, they ran a bunch load of tests, took a couple of biopsys and I’ll be picking him up on Monday and getting the results later in the week. All I can say is that it’s a good job I have an emergency fund. Which I’m going to need to start building up again.
I quit the Residents Association committee. One of the other members was upset because in their view, I was running things all by myself without taking their views into account. Things came to a head while I was in Bournemouth and I sent the committee members a resignation email. Life is far too short to waste it in petty squabbles.
When I got back from Bournemouth, I got a childishly spiteful email from the committee member which confirmed that I made the right decision.
The other committee member and myself have remained friends.
The committee was able to find a third member and the committee is doing great things working to improve the lives of all of the residents.
Yesterday (24/6/17), I was going out to get some shopping and I passed the the other committee member leaving the bin area. I said, “afternoon” but got no reply. Either I wasn’t seen or they chose to ignore me. Either way, I’m good.
The other thing that I’m working on is my weight. I joined Slimming World I’ve lost 10.5 lbs in 10 weeks. I’m finding it relatively easy as it’s about changing what you eat, not eliminating things from your life. Having said that, it is a low / medium fat and carb approach. So, if I want that Big Mac, it’s 22.5 syns. I haven’t had one, yet.
I’ve still got quite a way to go but it’s possible that I’ll be at or close to my target weight by Christmas.
